Dometic has focused on making life easy for their customers since its beginning. Two inventors led to Dometic known today. Baltzar von Platen and Carl Munters created the first refrigerator. They did this by redefining the cold box. They were able to cut ice and mechanical parts and introduce a boiler system. They applied heat to a boiler and a cooling agent moved through. The cooling agent would then absorb the heat and create a cooling effect. This technology was eventually patented and distributed by Arctic.
Arctic distributed refrigerators until bought by Electrolux. Electrolux ramped up the sales of refrigerators to the millions. The leisure market exploded after World War 2. This gave way to Electrolux changing the name of their appliances to Dometic.
Electrolux disbanded from Dometic in 2001. This gave way to new opportunities for the leading appliance company. The company continued to focus on its goal of “mobile living made easy”. The rise of mobile living has given need for appliances that have an at-home feeling while also saving storage space. Dometic introduced electric coolers. These coolers could be stored in a van or truck or be carried around for a day at the beach.
Dometic offers compressor and thermoelectric coolers. For those needing to deep freeze food or who are out in areas with high temperatures, a compressor cooler will be ideal. A thermoelectric cooler works for light cooling and portability.
Dometic focuses on making mobile life easy by producing items like coolers, awnings and air conditioners. No matter the lifestyle, whether you're in an RV, truck, or a tent, there is a Dometic product available. Not sure which cooler or air conditioner fits the bill for your adventure?
